I want to talk about the Democrats, but first, there are two Republicans who merit some comment.

First, Senator Rand Paul.  Apparently, when he was in college, Paul participated in some foolishness around the worship of the Aqua Buddha, whatever that is.  It came out in his campaign and he rightly dismissed it as a youthful indiscretion.  Perhaps he forgot that part of his past when he tried to dismiss the concerns of John Brennen, former CIA Director and someone who had served our country for many years, by pointing out that 42 years ago, Brennen, in a protest vote against the major parties, cast a vote for Gus Hall of the Communist Party for President.  But then we see Senator Paul, who pointed out how utterly unqualified Donald Trump was to be President, seeking to be as obsequious as possible to the Commander in Chief.  Even his transparent comment that perhaps he would not support Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, was short-lived and disingenuous.  But now he seems to be out-Russia-loving Trump.  I don’t know how that fits in with his other issues.  Maybe he is looking for friends in other places in case his other neighbors decide to treat him like the most recent one.

Republican number two is Kris Kobach.  He has spent most of his elected career claiming, with almost no evidence, that vast voter fraud was a pervasive problem in this country.  Such comments have undermined the faith voters have in election results.  Yet, on Friday, Kobach said that Governor Colyer’s call for him to recuse himself and challenging his comments to some county election officials was regrettable “because it would undermine the faith voters have in the election process.”  Kobach’s approach has been to make it harder to vote, which the courts have thrown out.  Hopefully, the results of the Kansas Republican Gubernatorial primary will not be challenged.  But the irony is rich.

I have run out of time… Democrats soon, I promise.  After all, we have the Avenatti campaign on the rise!
