I must confess that I am amused by Omarosa and her approach to dealing with the President. It is like a movie where Trump looks in the mirror and sees himself as a black woman! She sounds like him in her mendacity, but she is more articulate. I think the mistake Mr. Trump made was not offering her considerably more money than Stormy Daniels. Who knows, her lawyer may turn out to be Michael Avenatti.
Speaking of lawyers, Rudy Guiliani continues to flail around like someone who has lost his mind. Today, he said that the President knew about the Russian meeting in Trump Tower right after it happened, but since nothing came from the meeting with a foreign adversary, no harm no foul. He then lied about the Justice Department policy regarding investigations near election time. Finally, he accused Mueller of having leaked that the While House Counsel, Don McGahn, had met for 30 hours with the Special Counsel. He said only he and the President and a few others in the White House know about this, so it must have been Mueller leaking. This from a person who cannot keep his mouth shut talking about an investigation led for 15 months by someone who has said nothing about anything outside of court documents.
Finally, we have learned from Kellyanne Conway that everyone at the White House signed NDA’s. She said it as if that was common practice and compared it to documents signed regarding security clearances. First let me say that no White House in the history of the Republic has ever asked for NDA’s. None. As to security clearances, what happens is, once you have one, you agree not to disclose any information you received pursuant to them. If you think the Director of the CIA is, to use a term employed by the Senator from Louisiana, a “butthead,” you may feel free to say it – apparently, there will be no consequences. And, of course, if, like the aforementioned senator, you are a “butthead,” no one will even notice.
