It appears that Missouri Governor Mike Parsons has taken a page from former Congressman Todd Aiken’s playbook.
You may remember that Aiken said, when he was running against Claire McCaskill in 2012, that on the subject of whether there should be an exception for rape in allowing abortion that a “legitimate rape” could not produce a pregnancy.
Parsons has said that schools must reopen, and kids will get Covid but that they won’t have to go to the hospital or doctors’ offices. They will just stay at home until they get over it. I guess the teachers, staff, parents, and grandparents who get infected from this are a small price to pay in order to go along with the President on opening schools without weighing the health consequences. Where do we find these people?
Meanwhile the White House doesn’t want more money for testing in the new Covid legislation. After all, if we stopped testing tomorrow, no one would test positive and the President would declare victory. While we are at it, if we stop reporting crimes, I guess we won’t have any.
As Alice famously said, “it gets curiouser and curiouser.”
