Well, we are now moving through a period of pearl clutching and over the top angst by the media. First is the “will he or won’t he?” That is, will President Trump leave the White House upon the inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden? Of course, he will – as has always been the case, regardless of what he says. In order to stay, he would need to stage a military coup; for that, he would need a military of his own. Most of the leaders of America’s military will be happy to see him go.

So, the latest gasping by our friends in the fourth estate is over who can get confirmed in Biden’s Cabinet. The answer:  Everyone. First, the nominees will all be at least qualified, if not well-liked. Second, it will only require two Republicans at most, regardless of what happens in Georgia, who think a President is entitled to their own Cabinet members if they are qualified. All of Biden’s are. So, there will be some ranting by the ranters (e.g. Cotton, Cruz, Hawley, and others) —  this is just theater as they try to impress the Trump loyalists in the base that they, too, can be nasty and tough.

Finally, I wonder how many incumbent Republicans Trump can attack before he loses a little luster?  So far in Georgia, it’s been the Governor and Secretary of State. Surely after Trump is no longer President, he will find others to blame.  After all, we know that nothing that goes wrong is ever his fault.
