As we watch the Trump show slowly sink into the slime, it is interesting to note that the pardons have just begun. Most of these people have done horrible things but the President can pardon them as he has. Next will be the family, other miscreants and finally himself.

In other news, I must confess, I am amused by the outrage of Republicans in the House toward Trump over his call for payments to Americans of $2,000 after he had agreed to a bill with much smaller payments. The bill was also stuffed with the kind of little goodies that regularly survive in the swamp that Trump promised to drain. These House members defended Trump when there was no basis. They ignored everything he did that undercut our security agencies and hollowed out our government. They mindlessly supported his absurd lawsuit trying to overturn the election. Are they mad because he acted callously as a disloyal cad?  Didn’t they watch him do the same to Jeff Sessions, James Mattis, Rex Tillerson and countless others? They made their Faustian bargain and now they have no good choices. Will they stick with the guy that is sticking it to them?  These last three-plus weeks will be quite a show. Perhaps some of them will find their ideals that they checked at the door when Trump won, but I wouldn’t count on it. Rather, these snowflakes will whine about how unfair things are and try to figure out a way to out of Trump’s Twitter feed.

Welcome to the future Republican Party. Won’t someone please finally point out that the Emperor has no clothes?
