Now that we have called out the Republicans for their utter fecklessness, let’s see how the Dems are doing…
First, let’s not kid ourselves. Biden, who I have continually said has been a good President, is not popular and probably won’t be by November. Thus, if there is a need to keep Trump out of the White House, which seems unarguable among non-MAGA voters, Democrats need to up their game. They cannot rely on Biden’s personal ratings or rhetorical skills to carry the day. If this becomes a referendum on Biden, I believe he will lose. If it is a choice election, I believe he will win. Seems simple, doesn’t it?
I would refer all my Democratic friends to 2016 when all of us (me included) were certain Hillary would win. If this one goes south, I think a lot of us will need to plan on going east.
It’s just my opinion, but I didn’t believe that Hillary would win the election and and from what I was hearing from others in our area, I was convinced that practically any other personable Democratic candidate would have done better. There was some quality about her that progressives, at least around here, had difficulty connecting with, even though most of us thought that her policies were consistent with our values. With this upcoming election, I would have preferred a new Democratic choice and been more comfortable with the chances of winning, not because of his policies or performance, but because of the age and other mud being thrown at him, some of it sticking.
