Now that Joe Manchin has walked away from No Labels, they are scrambling for a Democrat. There is always Joe Lieberman. You remember Joe. He was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000. Ran for President in 2004, lost his Senate Primary but won as an Independent. He caucused with the Democrats and, to show his appreciation, he gave a speech for John McCain at the Republican National Convention in 2008. His most notable legislative achievement was preventing Medicare as an alternative under Obamacare. It would not have been good for the insurance companies located in his home state of Connecticut.

Other Democratic names floating about are former Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and probably others less well-known than these guys. Not something likely to excite the electorate already gloomy over the Biden v. Trump scenario.

Now, if they could just get Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to run…
