So now Biden has a chance to give a speech that may change the way he is perceived. His State of the Union gives him a rare chance for a reset.

My advice is simple.

Look at the assembled members of Congress in front of you and tell them they have failed to do their job. Keeping the government from shutting down is not an accomplishment. It is expected. Tell them if they don’t pass a border security bill and get aide for Ukraine you will call them back into session and keep doing it until they get something done.

Americans have a lower opinion of Congress than they do of Biden and Trump which is remarkable. Biden should show he is tough enough to get it done. It would certainly change the dynamic.

And I really don’t imagine he will do this which is why things are so scary.
