The debate tonight has only one requirement for Kamala Harris. It isn’t to make Trump look small. He will take care of that himself. It is the same task that Ronald Reagan had in 1980 and Bill Clinton had in 1992.  She needs to make herself believable as a President. She has to demonstrate she can do the job required and the voters who don’t know much about her can be reassured enough to vote for her. Enough of them don’t want to vote for Trump, but they need to know she is up to the job. If they conclude she is, the debate will be a success for her.
