I found the complaint by Mitch McConnell and Speaker Mike Johnson about Kamala Harris agreeing with General John F. Kelly that Donal Trump is a fascist amusing. Somehow complaining about the rhetoric and name calling in a campaign when you support Trump is disingenuous at best. When did these guys become such snowflakes?  Maybe after the Trump rally last Sunday, where bigots were given speaking slots, they realize this is not their strong suit.

I also noted Marco Rubio claimed that the former Trump administration officials who point out he is unfit to be President did it so they could get book deals and other positions.  I knew Marco when he made sense. He was a key player in crafting the immigration bill that passed the Senate in 2013, but House Republicans refused to bring it to the floor for a vote. He correctly identified Trump as a grifter in the 2016 Presidential primary. But, now, he has left his dignity behind and become a shill for the biggest huckster to ever occupy the White House.  I guess he is rivaling JD Vance for the future.

It seems to me that once you have succumbed to abandoning the truth, it is easy to ignore it going forward. What he will learn – what they all will learn, I believe, that even in these unsettling times, character will matter in the end.
