It is really a problem when the Administration is led by someone who forbids any admission of error. The most recent fiasco on the Signal chat with Jeff Goldberg of The Atlantic is the most recent case in point.
No, they shouldn’t have used the app for such a discussion and Goldberg should never have been added. But, they did and he was. The information shared was clearly classified by any definition and they all know that. But, apparently, they are required to keep lying about it because that is the playbook.
Essentially…
- Admit nothing, no matter how absurd your position is.
- Attack the journalist who got added to the call by your incompetence and who initially withheld some of the text because it was clearly classified.
- After attacking him and announcing it wasn’t classified, he released it.
So, they find themselves in the ridiculous situation of having to act like this information wasn’t classified and no one did anything wrong.
I never thought that we would have an administration that was following the Alice in Wonderland approach to everything, but I guess I failed to notice the tea party on the south lawn.
You can’t make this s–t up….
