I don’t know about you, but I am reassured that the looniest MAGA acolyte not serving in either Congress or the Trump administration is giving counsel to our President on who should be on his national security team. Laura Looner, who has said that she believes 9/11 was an “inside job,” gave the President a list of people to be fired from his national security team. He fired three of them.

Perhaps he was trying to deflect attention to the disastrous reaction to his Tariff… er… Liberation Day.

I think that anything he does that makes him sound tough, such as, “they have been ripping us off for years, but now I am stopping it,” thrills his base. Perhaps they will be less thrilled when they see their retirement funds eroded by his launching of a global trade war.

I would remind those who think this is only a tactic to negotiate a better position, just as in the beginnings of WWI, when no one really wanted a war, circumstances prevented putting the genie back in the bottle.

It seems to me that having demonstrated no interest in national security breaches not pointed out by Loony Laura, he will need someone to guide him through this trade war. Is Don Junior available?
