It is ironic that Donald Trump brands Michael Cohen a liar.  Of course, he would know, having surrounded himself with liars and being the consummate liar him-Jim-Jordon-self.  What is stunning is to watch his defenders as they do not even bother to try to act like what is being said is a lie.  Rather they want to discredit the messenger by pointing to his lack of character while at the same time defending Trump. Even Paul Ryan would find this difficult.

Now to be fair, Democrats did the same with Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal.  And efforts to point out the odious behavior of the President are seen as partisan attacks. Evidently, if you like the tax cuts, conservative judges, and the evangelical agenda that has moved forward during this administration, nothing else matters.  This is what Jim Jordon said today as a leader of the Freedom Caucus in the House of Representatives.  Makes you kind of proud, doesn’t it, to know that they have found religion and learned to forgive the various transgressions of this President.

Now we have a vote coming on the Emergency Order of the President in the Senate.  I know these freedom-loving conservative constitutionalists will make the President back down.  If they don’t, perhaps a Democratic President will employ the same action and then we will be in trouble.  What would be the worst outcome of this presidency would be to normalize this behavior.  If we do, this “through the looking glass”-presidency will only produce additional mad hatters.
