Watching the rollout of the Biden Campaign, I am surprised at how well it is going. If they can stay disciplined, do well enough in the debates, and put together a ground game in Iowa and New Hampshire, he could well have this thing over by super Tuesday. A lot of ifs, but if he can, he will be a strong nominee going into the election against Trump.
An observation about the new abortion laws being passed in states like Alabama and Missouri will open the door for some Democrats since the restrictions are so Ayatollah-like, that perhaps Doug Jones will survive in Alabama and a Democrat can be elected Governor in Missouri.
It was amusing to see the shock on the faces of the media pundits and retired pols when they realized that the Democratic Party did not consist only of left-leaning socialists. They loved the storyline so much that until Biden was ahead in the polls they didn’t realize that their narrative was absurd. I guess our friends in the media have never found a story that helped ratings that they couldn’t pump up beyond all recognition.
Finally, the kerfuffle surrounding the Mueller report will come to a crest when Mueller testifies before Congress which he surely will. After that, the House should decide whether to pursue an impeachment inquiry. I am reminded that when Richard Kleindienst was Attorney General at the beginning of the second term of Richard Nixon, he went before a Senate committee which was complaining about the executive branch overreach and failure to respond to requests for information. The then-AG said, in the wake of a landslide victory at the polls, “If you don’t like what we are doing you can always impeach us.” Careful what you wish for Mr. President.
