Well, well, well. So, our President just canceled his convention scheduled for August in Jacksonville, Florida. It is nice to see some common sense emerge, but I am not counting on it lasting long.
I presume the convention was canceled for two reasons. First, because the ability to draw a crowd in the midst of a pandemic has proved more elusive than our leader had hoped.
Secondly, he desperately wants to change the subject from his horrendous performance in dealing with the virus.
Along with his pals, Bill Barr and Ken Cuccinelli, the President hopes to gain traction by deploying federal troops of one agency or another in order to reinforce his “law and order” theme. They are creating more chaos in Portland and who knows, before they are finished, we could have some first-class riots on our hands.
They came to Kansas City where I live without consulting the Mayor. The AG boasted of 200 arrests yesterday, but of course, it was another lie. Evidently, 209 arrests have been made since December by local law enforcement and the feds evidently made one of them involving someone who drove over the foot of a federal employee. Glad we have 120 federal guys to nip that in the bud.
Who knows, maybe Jacksonville will get a visit from the federales instead of the President. He can show his love that way.
Allan, I appreciate your take on so many issues. Thank you for taking the time and thought put into each of these.

It’s not safe enough in Jacksonville for a few sycophants to meet and swear allegiance to their orange future-felon, but it’s simultaneously safe enough to get all those children back into the schools!
