I am struck by just how shameless Josh Hawley has become. A son of privilege who has consistently grasped any cause, regardless how odious, in his pursuit of political advancement.

Most people would have been chastened after waving a clinched fist of solidarity for a mob that threatened the lives of people at the nation’s Capital. But, I guess if you are privileged you don’t need to look backward at your actions.

His latest calumny is claiming that Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, was “soft on child pornographers.”  He has issued a memo that takes her questions asked and claimed they are her views. He has ignored that she was part of a unanimous bi-partisan sentencing commission and has characterized their decisions as hers while at the same time deliberately mischaracterizing those decisions.

Now, I guess if you want to be the next Donald Trump, anything goes. What is pathetic is that someone with so many advantages can’t even tell the truth.

I understand conservatives have concerns about Judge Jackson’s judicial philosophy. That is reasonable. What is disgusting is the attack on her in such vile terms only to raise his standing among those who hope to be the new Trumps in the Republican Party.

Hopefully, someday soon, the Trump fever will break in the Republican Party and Senator Hawley will join the ranks of the Joe McCarthys of history. He has already shown he deserves such recognition.
