We are now witnessing the double problem of our politics.  Recall that when there were classified documents found on the Trump property, Democrats thought it was a huge problem and Republicans did not. In fact, Republicans went so far as to argue the government was being weaponized against Trump. Now they are “very troubled” by the lack of a visitors log at Biden’s place in Delaware while not being worried about there not being one that was public at the White House during the Trump years. Democrats, meanwhile, are scrambling to point out that, with the discovery of the Biden documents, it was inadvertent and look how quickly (well, sort of) they were turned over to the government.

More importantly, we now have two special prosecutors looking at the current favorites for their respective party’s nomination in 2024.

The probable lack of equivalence of the actions is politically irrelevant. What we have is two very old antagonists, both being investigated by special prosecutors for the next year or two.  What a drag.

Am I the only person who thinks we need to turn the page?

President Biden has a lot to feel good about. He beat Trump and passed significant legislation to help people recover from Covid. He can go home at the end of this term with a great sense of having saved the country and passed the torch to a new generation. He can ask Nancy Pelosi for a model if he needs one.

That would be the best for everyone.
